Full-Time Teller - Georgetown Branch

We have a career opportunity available for a Full-time Teller at our Georgetown Branch location. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic professional to join our team. This individual must be dependable, have excellent communication skills, must be able to work in a multifunctional, team environment, and must represent the Credit Union in a professional manner, through image, communication, and knowledge.

General Function:

Accurately performs financial transactions affecting the accounts or loans of credit union members, in accordance with established policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Represents the credit union in a professional manner. Maintains acceptable cash/negotiable balancing standards, examines checks for endorsements and other features, follows internal controls to safeguard credit union funds and assets, consistently maintains cross-selling standards and organizes work and maintains accurate records.

Carries out special services for members, such as issuing gift cards, ordering checks, and performing cash advances. Ensures adequate safeguards to protect the confidentiality of the Credit Union and its members. Demonstrates the values shown on the Commonwealth Credit Union Vision, Mission, and Team 1 Values.

  • Training: Eagerly participates in all in-house training offered to staff and shows enthusiasm towards learning new things. Scores at least an acceptable rating on the test and works to improve in any areas that are answered incorrectly.
  • Service: Uses the member’s name at least three times during every transaction. Maintains attentiveness and responsiveness to member traffic, while maintaining efficiency.

2 Mortgage Loan Originators - Louisville Rd Office

We have 2 career opportunities available for Mortgage Loan Originators (MLO), at the Louisville Road office in Frankfort Kentucky. We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, and sales-oriented professionals to join our team. In addition to being able to obtain insurance licensing, the candidate must be dependable, have excellent communication skills, and should be able to work in a multifunctional, team environment, representing the Credit Union in a professional manner through image, communication, and knowledge.

General Function:

Assists members in determining mortgage needs, evaluates qualifications and advises members on business and financial matters relating to mortgage loans. Responsible for business development through community involvement, referral systems and other activities. Processes mortgage loan applications, establishes and negotiates the terms under which credit will be extended, including the cost, repayment method and schedule and collateral requirements, within policy. Assist members in determining appropriate mortgage products available for their specific use including KHC, secondary market loans, FHA and VA loans. Closes approved loans, complying with applicable rules and regulations.

Actively cross-sells Credit Union products/services, stays abreast of residential loan market. Keeps management informed of changes in market conditions. Generates sales ideas and programs, and assists management with special projects and presentations. Maintains knowledge of rules, policies and procedures governing all classes of loans. Offers assistance and sound guidance to other staff, referring them to management when appropriate. Demonstrates strong communication skills. Fully trained and acclimated to position duties and responsibilities and performs with minimal guidance. Maintains working knowledge of all regulations such as OFAC, Privacy Act, Reg Z, Reg X, ECOA and any additional new regulations effecting mortgage loan applications. All other duties as assigned.

This position requires the individual to provide detailed information on Home Equity and/or Mortgage Loans; therefore, NMLS registration will be required. If the individual is not currently registered, they will need to pass the applicable background screening to be registered. This screening may be different than what's required for the individual to become employed by the Credit Union.

Education / Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 2 years-experience
  • Credit Union experience preferred

Essential Job Specific Competencies

  • Proactively follows up in an efficient and timely manner for all business development activities and utilizes tracking methods to continuously measure and self-evaluate effectiveness.
  • Develops strategic relationships with key individuals within Business Partner groups/community and continuously gathers positive testimonials and referrals. Actively participates in local chambers of commerce and other networking groups to build strategic relationships within the community that create referrals, positive image and rapport for the organization.
  • Assists potential members with opening new accounts, onboarding; assist existing members with account information, inquiries and additional products. While providing the highest level of service and products that complete their need.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Branch Managers and other key team members to establish and achieve credit union goals and objectives. Responsible for branch business development representative’s knowledge and upkeep of business development tracking. Seeks out and develops key team members with advanced sales training techniques along with exposure to business development activities outside of their routine job requirements.
  • Coordinates, researches and participates in Financial Wellness Programs and community events within the communities we serve. Researches and coordinates community programs and/or activities to favorably position the credit union among the community as directed by the strategic drivers.
  • Proactively seeks professional development opportunities and stays up to date with assigned training materials. Including a passing score on annual product knowledge exam and annual presentation evaluations.
  • Continually looks for ways to improve productivity - via new ideas and expense control methods - in order to improve job/departmental efficiency.
  • Assist in developing Business Development Representatives and Branch Representatives ensuring that team member meet credit union standards. Assists the Business Development Supervisor to develop the business development strategic plan and department budget.
